Rainbow sheen obsidianBruce St. John Maher is a seventh-generation jeweler. He enjoys working with opal inlay in a variety of gemstones, such as obsidian, poppy jasper, and labradorite. He mined this volcanic rock from Mt. Lassen, Calif., in the U.S., and inlaid it with Australian opal.
