Kalmbach appoints new editor for Bead&Button magazine

WAUKESHA, Wis. — Julia Gerlach is the new editor of Bead&Button magazine, a Kalmbach Publishing Co. publication.
Gerlach is an accomplished beader and jewelry designer. An experienced writer and editor, she previously was editor of Kalmbach’s Wirework magazine. She also oversaw special projects, including producing jewelry-class videos, for Bead&Button, BeadStyle, and Art Jewelry magazines.
Before that, as Bead&Button’s managing editor, she designed jewelry projects, scheduled staff and freelance assignments, and oversaw the publication’s day-to-day workflow.
Gerlach began her career at Kalmbach in the books department, where she was an associate editor, working on jewelry books.
Gerlach holds a BA in music and philosophy from Alverno College in Milwaukee. She lives in West Allis, Wis.
