|This loom pattern and necklace design was inspired by the legend of the beautiful Cherokee rose that grows along the trail of tears. According to the legend, the chiefs felt bad for the grieving mothers of the Cherokee and prayed for a sign to lift their spirits and give them strength to care for their children. From that day forward, a beautiful rose grew wherever a mother's tear fell to the ground. The leaves on the left side of the pattern are worked in square stitch. Each leaf has a line marked on the pattern to separate the square stitch sections from the loom work. |
